| Istanbul is in truth a city to walk through, but for those longer trips and basic getting around, car hire is the way to go. The public transport system (buses and trams) are pretty good, but you loose your flexibility and can be rather confusing if you don't speak Turkish. |

| Founded by Constantine on November 26, 326 and at that time called Constantinople, Istanbul has been around a long time. Little remains of the original old city that was once rich beyond dreams, but modern day Istanbul is still the hub of commerce and culture of Turkey, even though it is no longer the capital city of the land.
